Working alongside the child’s network, you will identify permanent carers who can meet the needs of children over the age of two.

From driving through recruitment campaigns, through to organising effective presentation and planning, everything you do will be centred around the needs of the child.

As the lead officer, you will work alongside other Local Authorities, external adoption and fostering agencies to secure appropriate placements for children.  You will facilitate chair and planning meetings including professional meetings, family finding evaluation meetings and introduction and placement meetings.  You will provide statements to and attend Court; as well as compiling necessary matching and family find reports to Adoption Panels and external funding teams.

You must be a qualified social worker with Health Care Profession Council registration; have experience of direct work with children, young people and their families within a children’s or family placement setting; have sound knowledge of adoption and fostering issues; coupled with knowledge and understanding of the needs of children from complex backgrounds.

We have two vacancies; one within our Family Finding Team for NWC working 36.5 hours per week and the other for our Family Finding Team for East working 22.5 hours per week

 

If you have 3 years or more post qualifying experience & are  joining us from another authority; you will receive a recruitment incentive payment of £3,000 (subject to tax and national insurance deductions).

If you stay with one of our frontline teams for two years and remain with us; on your third year, you will receive a retention payment of £2,400, paid quarterly in your pay package.
