The Emergency Duty Team provides a social work service that deals with Emergencies, occurring out of hours, including Bank Holidays, for children and young people.
We wish to recruit a Team Leader who is an experienced senior social worker and/or manager who will help develop the service, supervise staff and manage resources.
Working on a shift basis you will ensure that the service provides effective safeguarding out of hours. A key responsibility is to prioritise and allocate work to senior social workers on shift and provide advice and guidance in child protection matters.
The role requires the ability to act independently and to make sound professional decisions in crises situations. You will have a well-developed problem solving capabilities and the professional competence and confidence to work effectively with senior colleagues, including those from other agencies and disciplines.
You will have leadership skills and ensure through regular supervision to social work staff on the team that professional standards are maintained.
You must have a Dip SW or equivalent and be registered with the HPCC. If you have the skills, drive and commitment to help deliver a specialist social work service to Children and Young People in Birmingham then we would like to hear from you.
