This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join the Birmingham Children’s Trust Fostering Agency.

We are an innovative not for profit Fostering Agency.  We work in a challenging and highly rewarding field of work making a real and positive difference to the lives and outcomes of Birmingham’s children, young people and families.

We are seeking to recruit a Team Manager who can work closely with the Assistant Head of Service to effectively manage a social work team within the Independent Fostering Agency and deliver child focused fostering agency services.

We are looking for someone who is able to lead and provide vision and direction to their team and who is able to build positive relationships within the organisation and with partner agencies.  We need someone with experience of delivering child focused fostering services, who has experience of improving practice and championing positive change for children and young people.

Key components of the role will be to safeguard children and young people, provide supervision to fostering social workers, provide support to foster carers, manage change and implement and support quality assurance systems.

About you

As a qualified, social worker registered with the Health Care Profession Council, you will bring significant professional experience and learning - from practice to supervision to fulfil the Fostering Agency Team Manager Role and Responsibilities.

You must have a proven record for successfully managing change or improvement to services and practices in fostering and children and families; plus experience of delivering services through a regulatory inspection Framework.

You should be passionate and proactive in supporting your staff, coupled with strong leadership skills, resilience, and the ability to manage competing deadlines and demands. 

With excellent communication and relationship building skills, you must inspire a positive culture of high performance, clear direction, collaboration and dialogue.
