As Team Manager, you’ll lead a group of social workers delivering child focused Special Guardianship, Connected Persons and Private Fostering Assessment and support services.
Your team will look to you for vision and direction. We will look to you to improve services, champion the highest standards of practice and achieve real positive changes to improve children’s lives.
You will empower your team, from senior practitioners through to support staff by forging strong and meaningful links with partner agencies. Through reflective supervision and evidence-based audit, you will make safeguarding children’s welfare the cornerstone of every aspect of you and your team’s practice.
You will be responsible for your team’s compliance with statutory requirements; managing budgets; developing mechanisms to manage and record data; as well as allocating and monitoring the work given to each member of your team.
You will ensure your team keeps up to date with changes to legislation or practice; bringing relevant research and new case law to team meetings for discussion and inclusion in their daily work.
Crucially, you will be proactive in liaising with area social work teams to discuss and, where appropriate, challenge care plans for individuals.
As a qualified, social worker registered with the Health Care Profession Council, you will bring significant professional experience and learning - from practice to supervision.
You must have a proven record for successfully managing change or improvement to services and practices; plus experience of delivering services through a regulatory inspection process.
You should be passionate about proactive safeguarding of children, coupled with strong leadership skills, resilience, and the ability to manage competing deadlines and demands.
With excellent communication and relationship building skills, you must inspire a positive culture of high performance, clear direction, collaboration and dialogue.
